Vehicle noise measurement in compliance with Brazilian environmental legislation

The DB1000USB is the NAPRO® system developed for measuring sound emissions from motor vehicles in compliance with CONAMA 418 and IBAMA 6 resolutions. The system integrates a precision sound level meter with Windows measurement software that controls the test sequence, verifies validity conditions and generates the report automatically.

Communication between the sound level meter and the computer is via IM/USB interface, eliminating the need for serial converters or complex drivers. The system can be expanded with an RPM meter — digital (PRO 9200) or via OBD protocol — to ensure that noise measurement is performed at the correct engine speed as specified by the standard.

Noise measurement under acceleration with laser sensors and radio RPM

The DB3500 is the NAPRO® system for measuring noise emitted by motor vehicles under acceleration, designed to comply with ABNT NBR 15145 and ECE Regulation 51. It uses laser barriers to measure vehicle speed at two or three points on the track, and an RPM meter with radio frequency transmission — no cables attached to the vehicle.

Accepts up to two sound level meters simultaneously — the second via wireless communication — and operates normally in direct sunlight. Allows RBC traceable calibration and certification.

Measurement software

The software included with the DB3500 manages the entire test: collects and synchronises speed data (laser), RPM (radio) and sound pressure level (sound level meter), applies the standard's validity criteria and automatically generates results. Data can be exported in CSV format for later analysis.
