NAPRO Roller Dynamometer DINO 3000

Precision wheel power and torque measurement for light and commercial vehicles

The DINO 3000 is a roller dynamometer with an Eddy Current electric brake, designed to measure wheel power and torque on vehicles with internal combustion engines — both Diesel and Otto cycle. Supports vehicles up to 2,500 kg with test speeds up to 300 km/h and maximum power of 300 kW per axle.

Available in 2WD (single drive) and 4WD (all-wheel drive) versions, with adjustable wheelbase from 825 to 2,125 mm. Includes the DINO 3000 software with multiple test modes, analog signal acquisition and infrared remote control.

  • Maximum power: 300 kW per axle
  • Maximum speed: 300 km/h
  • Tractive force: 7,500 Nm
  • Measurement accuracy: ±2%
  • 2WD and 4WD versions — adjustable axle from 825 to 2,125 mm
  • Eddy Current electric brake
  • Pneumatic lift for safe vehicle positioning
  • NAPRO® software with multiple test modes

Eddy Current Brake

The Eddy Current braking principle provides precise and continuous control of the load applied to the vehicle under test, with no friction-based mechanical wear. The brake temperature can reach up to 100 °C during operation — for safety, metal guards must not be touched during tests.

The control system integrated in the Control Electrical Panel (CEP) coordinates all electronic and electromechanical devices of the bench, powered by 220/380 VAC three-phase 60 Hz, with peak consumption of up to 6 kW.

Operational safety

  • Pneumatic lift with automatic roller lock
  • Safety device prevents lift activation with rollers in motion
  • Vehicle anchoring system included
  • Visual alarm for faults and circuit breaker trips
  • Engine cooling fan during and after tests

DINO 3000 Software

The DINO 3000 software offers multiple test modes operated by keyboard, mouse or infrared remote control — allowing the operator to drive the vehicle during the test without leaving the cabin. Results are displayed in real-time graphs with print and archiving options.

Available test modes

  • Acceleration based on engine RPM
  • Acceleration based on vehicle speed
  • Timed test at constant RPM
  • Programmable cycles
  • Road simulation (rolling resistance)
  • Speedometer verification
  • Constant traction
  • Transmission ratio calculation

Signal acquisition (optional)

  • Engine RPM — inductive probe or 0–5 V analog input
  • Lambda probe — real-time air/fuel ratio
  • Throttle position — opening percentage
  • Water/oil temperature — engine thermal monitoring
  • Exhaust temperature — type K thermocouple
  • OBD — On-Board digital data acquisition
